Power Plant Mechanic Worker in Charge

Ability to do the work of a(n) Power Plant Mechanic Worker in Charge without more than normal supervision. You must be able to work in a crew of industrial mechanics and assume responsibility for leading in the accomplishment of tasks. This work under normal supervision of a work leader or journey-level employee who observes tasks in progress and upon completion to make sure they are properly performed. - Failure to meet this Screen Out Element will result in an ineligible rating. ABILITY TO INTERPRET INSTRUCTIONS, SPECIFICATIONS ETC. (INCLUDING BLUEPRINT READING)Ability To Lead or SuperviseAbility to Use and Maintain Tools and EquipmentKnowledge of Equipment Assembly, Installation, Repair, etc.Knowledge of MaterialsTechnical Practices (theoretical, precise, artistic)Trouble Shooting Physical Efforts:
The incumbent must have physical endurance to work for prolonged periods in cramped, poorly accessible sites when repairing or servicing installed equipment. Physical effort requires prolonged standing, walking, climbing, bending, stooping, kneeling, pushing, pulling, twisting, and lifting and carrying objects frequently weighing up to, and occasionally over, 45 pounds. Machinist work requires acute dexterity Working Conditions:
Work is performed in the machine shop, in the powerhouse and other project structures and outdoors. The employee is exposed to noise, heights, oils, greases, confined areas, dust, dirt, water, heat or cold. Also may be exposed to odors, fumes and moving and/or energized equipment. Must wear all safety equipment and appropriate clothing, and successfully complete and maintain all occupational health requirements.
Estimated Salary: $20 to $28 per hour based on qualifications.
