The Department of the Army Recent Graduates Program affords developmental experiences in the Department of Army intended to promote possible careers in the civil service to individuals who have recently graduated from qualifying educational institutions or programs. Successful applicants are placed in a dynamic, developmental program with the potential to lead to a civil service career in the Federal Government.
After Program completion, Department of the Army Recent Graduates MAY be converted to a permanent position.

Successfully completed at least 1-year of continuous service in addition to all requirements of the Program.
Demonstrate successful job performance.

Positions are open to:
Recent graduates who have completed, within the previous two years, a qualifying associates, bachelors, masters, professional, doctorate, vocational or technical degree or certificate from a qualifying educational institution.
Veterans unable to apply within two years of receiving their degree, due to military service obligation, have as much as six years after degree completion to apply.
Must be able to to obtain/maintain driver's license. As a Park Ranger, you will participate in the conservation, preservation, restoration, and use of project natural and cultural resources. In this capacity, you will also:
Enforce Title 36 CFR by educating the visiting public on project purposes, conditions, policies, and regulations.
Patrol project lands and waters to prevent unauthorized use, trespass, destruction of project land, water, facilities, and other environmental resources.
Investigate and report violations.
Conduct public relations services for the general public and for special groups.
Provide project information to local, state and federal agencies and the visiting public through brochures, bulletin boards, news releases, telephone calls, and other written and oral correspondence.
Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student; social). You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.
To qualify based on your experience, your resume must describe at least one year of experience which prepared you to do the work in this job.
To qualify for the GS-05, you must have a year or more of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-4 level in federal service which includes monitoring visitor activity and enforcing park rules and regulations.
To qualify for the GS-07, you must have a year or more of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-5 level in federal service which includes providing orientations for project programs and services, monitoring visitor activity, and coordinating recreational services with community organizations, and enforcing park rules and regulations.
You will be evaluated on the basis of your level of competency (knowledge, skills, abilities)in the following areas:

You must meet the Park Ranger training requirements as identified in the Career Development Guide for Civil Works Natural Resources Management Team Members.
You must maintain possession of, or the ability to acquire, a Corps of Engineers boat operator's license.
You will be required to have, or be able to obtain within 6 months of hire, a valid CPR certificate and Responding to Emergencies (or equivalent) certificate.

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
